Road Trip Music

Hi friends! Today's the day, I'm just wrapping up at work and we're about to hit the road! We've had so much planning to do so I'm extremely excited to start actually doing the thing.

Live look in of me unable to help but wonder

In thinking of all the stuff we have to do to prepare for the trip, I obviously covered the required clothes, electronics, toiletries mandates but when it came to the car ride I COULDN'T HELP BUT WONDER, what the hell are we going to listen to for 108 hours of drive time?

So I did the thing I do and I made a lot of playlists. And because I have to be DJ at the party or I'll throw a temper tantrum, I wanted to offer you all, my adoring fans, the opportunity to listen to these playlists too.

I've split them up by genre and mood and they're generally going to be living, breathing things. We have jobs and lives so as much as I'd have loved to, I couldn't spend the last week curating these selections with the detail I'd like. Also I'm one of those people who listens to the same song 50 times in a row until she hates it and calls it a playlist, AND I still haven't gotten over how much of a banger Don't Tell Em is even though it came out approx. 15 years ago.

Aside from the playlists, we've also decided to save a few albums we love that we couldn't pick just one (or two or three) songs from. Those albums are:

  • Chance the Rapper, Coloring Book
  • Bon Iver, 22, A Million
  • Kesha, Rainbow
  • Frank Ocean, Blonde
  • Taylor Swift, 1989 (Ed. Note, Dylan is an all time swiftie and while this album is easily her best, I have some notes)
  • The Audition, Great Danger (i know im in a really weird place rn)

And here are the playlists so you, too, can follow along and pretend you're trapped in a rav 4 across the great plains for 14 hours with your boyfriend and your dog. Enjoy!
